Laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, which disables the follicle so it grows back finer, lighter and slower, and eventually not at all for most hairs. Because the laser treats many follicles at once, it is the quickest way to clear bigger areas.

What to expect

Treatments are done as a series spaced several weeks apart, so each session catches hairs in their active growth phase. Most people notice a clear reduction after the first few sessions. Each visit is short, and you can go straight back to your day.

Laser works best on dark hair. If your hair is blonde, red, grey or white, or you have a few stubborn hairs left after laser, we finish the job with electrolysis, which we also do in-house. Most chains only offer laser; we offer both, so you get the method that actually works for your hair.

Before your appointment

• Shave the area the day before, but don’t wax, pluck or thread for a few weeks beforehand
• Avoid tanning and self-tanner on the area before and between sessions
• Come with clean skin: no lotion, deodorant or makeup on the area
• Tell us about any medications or skin conditions at your consultation
